Championing Digital Skills for the Next Generation
The Digital Skills program is more than a series of educational initiatives—it’s a well-oiled learning machine, powered by passionate volunteers who believe in every child’s potential.
As we close the 2024–2025 school year, we’re taking a moment to thank the incredible volunteers who made AI Generation, Path to Code, and Sense of Possibility come to life.
29 volunteers signed up for this whirlwind of a learning journey. They taught weekly lessons or hosted monthly webinars on the Own Your Path Digital Education Platform for the high schoolers in the Own Your Path program.
Shaping the Future, One Lesson at a Time
In a world where Artificial Intelligence is rapidly transforming our lives, 8 trainers and 1 instructional designer stepped up to equip underprivileged students with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive in an AI-fueled world.
These passionate professionals, coming from technical and non-technical backgrounds, poured 532 hours of volunteering into teaching high schoolers the foundations of AI, machine learning, and responsible tech use. They taught two courses structured into 90-minute lessons, each taking place over 14 weeks.
The first course in the AI Generation curriculum is now available on our website for free, in English and Romanian.

Unlocking Opportunities Through Programming
Coding is a language of opportunity—and thanks to 13 trainers and 3 instructional designers, hundreds of students now speak it with greater confidence.
This school year, 1,386 hours of volunteering were gifted to the high schoolers, helping them explore programming fundamentals, develop advanced coding skills and build tech projects using MIT App Inventor and Python. They taught two courses structured into 90-minute lessons, each taking place over 22 weeks.

Opening Hearts and Minds
This project brings volunteers closer to the high schoolers, nurturing their hopes and ambitions through storytelling and sharing know-how. It connects students with “a sense of possibility”—a belief in a bright future and the confidence that there are limitless opportunities for innovation and progress.
This school year, 5 volunteers invested 40 hours of their time and energy into bringing engaging and interactive sessions to the high schoolers. Their sessions offered participants insights into new technologies and other topics of interest, such as building healthy relationships, time management, competencies for the future, managing your emotions, or financial education. Thank you for nurturing these young people’s openness, curiosity, and creativity.
