About the Program

Nurture Teachers’ Potential has been implemented in partnership with Teach for Romania since 2019, supporting teachers in public schools where we are present through other educational initiatives. The program provides high-quality mixed training (online and offline), individual mentorship, and hands-on learning at the workplace as part of teachers’ continuous development, helping them generate a lasting impact in their communities.

Through this program, teachers gain access to modern resources, tools, and teaching techniques designed to spark students’ curiosity and engagement in school. The goal is to improve academic performance and reduce dropout rates among the children we support.

In 2024, we are offering teachers in our partner school network two new courses:

  • Preventing, Recognizing, and Managing Bullying in the Educational Process – a non-credit course where participants receive a grant to implement a project in their school or high school.
  • Less Segregation, More Diversity in the School Environment – an accredited course

About the Participants

Around 50 to 60 Partner Teachers from UiPath Foundation’s network of schools and high schools can participate in the courses we develop with Teach for Romania each year. The training topics are identified based on teachers’ needs and interests, covering areas such as Safe Learning Spaces, Transformational Leadership, or Motivation and curiosity for Learning.

Teachers are selected based on their motivation to participate in one of the available courses and their involvement in extracurricular activities. They benefit from training led by professional trainers, mentorship, and practical exercises to reinforce the knowledge they acquire.

Course Themes

Since the start of the partnership, teachers have completed training on the following topics:

  • Safe Learning Spaces
  • Free from Violence
  • Growth Mindset as a Foundation for Learning
  • Communities for the Future & Transformational Leadership
  • Motivation & Curiosity for Learning
  • Reflection & Metacognition Strategies
  • Classroom Culture of Success.

Testimonials

Otilia
teacher in Bârlad and participant in the courses

For me, the most rewarding thing is seeing a child who doesn’t feel comfortable with themselves or in the classroom begin to open up. I’ve realized that my purpose as a teacher isn’t to create academic champions, but to truly support these children—who are so different from one generation to the next. I believe the greatest need of today’s generation of children is to take care of their emotions, to understand them, and to remain human.

Laura
teacher in Ferentari, supported through our partnership with Teach for Romania

Life exists in Ferentari, just like anywhere else, but we must acknowledge the challenges this neighborhood brings—drugs, violence, poverty. I don’t look at my students through these lenses because I would fall into something I’ve always disliked—treating them with pity.

I know exactly what happens here and the struggles they face. I know, for example, that for many people living near the school, existence is a fight for survival. But I also know this: education is the only thing that brings hope! And I want my students to have hope, to dream about their future, by being in school!

Viorica
teacher in Galați and participant in the courses

Participating in the course run by Teach for Romania in partnership with UiPath Foundation represented Change for me—first and foremost, realizing that without a transformation in mindset, both for myself and for those around me, things cannot improve. What did I learn throughout this course? Through change, by motivating my team, they too will transform, and together we will experience the satisfaction of achieving results as a team.

Cristina
teacher in Bucharest and participant in the courses

I need to help them break free from the fixed mindset that holds them back and prevents them from feeling a sense of well-being, by showing them a different vision of what they can become. There is a deep fear of making mistakes. I want to show them that if they make mistakes, they have the opportunity to improve their results next time—from a more relaxed and confident perspective.
