Future Acceleration Program is the flagship educational program UiPath Foundation created in 2019. It is designed for children aged 10 to 15 from underserved communities in Romania, including Bucharest’s Ferentari neighborhood and Cluj, Botoșani, Galați, Olt, and Vaslui counties.
As of 2024, more than 200 children from underserved communities are enrolled in the program. We provide them with a comprehensive, long-term support package tailored to their individual needs. This includes online tutoring in subjects like mathematics and English, a tablet with internet access, a monthly scholarship, periodic support packages with food, school supplies, clothing and books as well as medical and psychological support, and an annual summer camp.
The program gives children access to quality educational resources, empowering them to continue their educational journey while developing essential skills to adapt to a future where technology plays a key role.

About the Kids

The children enrolled in the Future Acceleration Program share a strong desire to learn and the courage to push beyond their limits but grow up in environments where a lack of resources can hinder their drive.
Through the activities offered in the program, these children experience remarkable growth. Year after year, we see changes in how they perceive themselves and those around them—gaining more confidence, acceptance, and curiosity.

The Support Package
Our intervention is designed for the long term and built on close collaboration with the families and communities of the children we support. By working together, we create an environment that fosters their growth and development.
We rely on local coordinators and partner organizations to implement our activities at the grassroots level, and schools play a key role in our process—from identifying eligible children to helping us monitor their progress and educational journey.
Children from underserved communities often face poverty and social exclusion, which can significantly impact their access to education and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
We address these challenges by providing a comprehensive support package tailored to each child’s specific needs.

Encouraging and motivating children to expand their potential career paths is an essential part of our mission.
These sessions, led by volunteers from the UiPath global employee community, provide children with real-life stories of education and career journeys. Volunteers introduce the kids to various career paths, help them better understand different industries, and inspire them to build their futures based on their own aspirations and interests.
English Conversation Club
The club is a unique opportunity for children to enhance their English communication skills while interacting with a multicultural and diverse environment. Children at pre-intermediate and intermediate levels join interactive online sessions with international UiPath volunteers, covering topics like travel, technology, hobbies, and other age-appropriate subjects.
Curated by A_BEST, this experience builds children’s confidence to communicate in a foreign language while encouraging them to explore new cultures, interests, and traditions.
Career Counseling
In 2022, we identified a specific need among the teenagers in the program: opportunities to explore their career interests. Over a period of four months, they participated in individual sessions and group workshops curated by The Social Institute.
These sessions allowed them to discuss aspirations, skills, and interests with career counselors and engage in interactive workshops covering essential life skills—from communication and emotional management to problem-solving and time management.
RPA (Robotic Process Automation) for Kids
Developing digital skills is a priority in our program, as we aim to equip teenagers with the essential abilities for 21st-century job opportunities. In 2022, together with UiPath volunteers, we created a kid-friendly automation course.
Over eight interactive sessions, children learned to identify tasks suitable for automation and developed simple automation projects using basic programming concepts.
To Picture a Story
Our partnership with British Council Romania in 2021 included eight workshops designed to enhance children’s creativity and English communication skills through photography and storytelling.
Using film cameras provided as part of the project, children captured and shared their everyday life stories in rural and urban Romania. Their photos were paired with short stories written by the children, published on Instagram at @topictureastory, and exhibited during the 2021 U&I Sumer Camps.
Net Hour (Internet Safety Workshops)
Our collaboration with Save the Children Romania in 2020 and 2021 was tremendously valuable, especially since children were increasingly exposed to online risks.
The Net Hour workshops focused on crucial topics such as online identity and cybersecurity, cyberbullying, detecting fake news, and internet addiction. Through interactive activities and open discussions, we equipped children with knowledge and practical tools and strategies for safe internet navigation.
U&I Summer Camps
Our summer camps bring together children from our communities, UiPath volunteers, educational partners, the UiPath Foundation team, board members, and donors for a week filled with educational activities, playtime, and relaxation.
Children participate in workshops that develop their digital skills, socio-emotional competencies, life skills, and more. The camp is the most anticipated event of the year for the children in our program. For many, it is their only opportunity to step outside their community and experience something entirely new.

The Future Acceleration Program Community
The program would not be possible without the incredible support of our global community of UiPath volunteers.
These dedicated volunteers participate in various educational activities—online and in person—engaging with children, delivering digital and socio-emotional education workshops, serving as mentors, and becoming role models who inspire and motivate the kids to pursue their dreams and aspirations.
Beyond direct engagement, UiPath volunteers also support our fundraising initiatives and act as true champions of our mission, helping bring us closer to making our mission a reality.
