Our Global Community of Volunteers

The global volunteering community plays a central role in our intervention. Without our volunteers’ generosity, passion, and dedication, we could not offer children in our programs a genuinely memorable experience.
Whether it’s spending a day at the museum with the children or a week in summer camp, joining the English Conversation Club, or helping distribute support packages in our communities, we can always count on our extraordinary community.
The volunteering program is open to UiPath employees and offers them opportunities for direct involvement in activities involving children or indirect support by assisting the Foundation’s team in its daily operations. It also provides opportunities for social engagement through community meetings.
Since 2019, our volunteer community has dedicated over 14,000 hours of their time to the children. Each of the 460 volunteers involved in our activities goes above and beyond to provide high-quality educational experiences for the children.

U&I Summer Camp
Around 50 UiPath volunteers dedicate a week of their time to the children every summer. Each volunteer takes care of a group of 4 to 5 children, supporting them in educational activities and playtime. The U&I Summer Camp is the most eagerly awaited moment of the year for the children in the program. For many, it is their only opportunity to experience new things outside their community.

Inspirational Speakers
Volunteers from different professional backgrounds share their life stories, educational journeys, and career paths with the children. This project helps expand the children’s horizons and exposes them to various career options.
Since the first edition

English Conversation Club
International volunteers from the global community of UiPath employees engage in interactive online sessions with children, covering topics such as travel, technology, hobbies, and other age-appropriate interests. This initiative builds the children’s confidence in communicating in a foreign language while encouraging them to explore new cultures, interests, and traditions.
Since the first edition

Support Package Distribution
Children and their families receive periodic support packages containing school supplies, clothing, footwear, essential food items, hygiene products, books, and games. These packages are distributed in communities by volunteers who work closely with local coordinators.

Volunteering in the Digital Skills & Own Your Path programs
Path to Code
This programming course is entirely developed by UiPath volunteers, from designing the curriculum and lesson plans to delivering the sessions. High school students meet weekly with volunteer trainers to build their digital and programming skills.
Since 2023

Sense of Possibility
Volunteers plan, create, and deliver sessions to connect high school students with opportunities in technology. After hosting a webinar on a relevant topic, they will answer students’ questions over the course of a week on the Own Your Path platform forum.
Since 2023

AI Generation
Starting in 2024, we are introducing an AI skills development course using a curriculum designed by the App Inventor Foundation. Volunteers adapt the content, structure it for high school students, and lead weekly sessions with their groups.

Other volunteering opportunities
Volunteering as a teambuilding exercise
Several UiPath teams expressed their desire to support the Foundation’s efforts and spend time with the children in our programs, making the most of the moments when their global teams gathered in Bucharest.
The children had the opportunity to connect with people from different nationalities, practice their English, learn about new cultures, and have fun together through organized activities.
Skills-based volunteering
In addition to opportunities for direct interaction with children, the volunteering program also has a skills-based component, where volunteers support us in our day-to-day operations, such as maintaining the Own Your Path Digital Educational Platform, providing legal assistance, translations, or coaching for team members.
A team of dedicated volunteers forms the Digital Innovation Task Force. They focus on the digital transformation of the Foundation’s processes and the scaling of programs, developing solutions in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, workflow automation, and web development.

Community Meetings
The volunteering program has an important social component. We strive to cultivate a sense of belonging by organizing events, meetups, and activities where volunteers can connect with like-minded people, exchange ideas, and build relationships.
Each year, we select 10-12 of the most engaged volunteers to become part of the volunteer program’s Ambassadors Team. They help us create a unique experience by organizing events and initiatives open to the entire community. They are also the most active promoters of our initiatives, helping us spread the word about volunteer opportunities across all UiPath departments.
