COVID-19 Global Emergency Fund

Our response to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging India and Romania was to mobilize the UiPath community of employees in a global fundraising effort.

Our response to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging India and Romania was to mobilize the UiPath community of employees in a global fundraising effort.

With the help of a matching commitment from UiPath, we raised $2.26 million, which we used to distribute support in Romania and India throughout 2020 and 2021. Thanks to the outpouring of solidarity and generosity, we were able to provide protective equipment, oxygen tanks, and ventilator maintenance, among other things.

India

Throughout 2020 and 2021, with the help of our partners, we offered warm meals to children and their families and oxygen tanks to hospitals overwhelmed by the surge in COVID cases.

This crisis required immediate reaction and solidarity, so we deployed resources swiftly, working against major infrastructural obstacles, to bring much needed resources across India.

Urgent Support

With the support of our partner, Give India, we distributed over 1 million meals to vulnerable children and their families who went through a massive internal migration movement from urban areas like Bangalore, Delhi, and Mumbai to rural areas of India, severely affected by the pandemic. We also provided more than 4000 basic food packages for children in Bangalore through our partners at Dream a Dream, through the Global Emergency Fund.

Oxygen for India

In 2021, COVID-19 cases rose to approximately 400,000 in one day. Together with the global community of UiPath employees and UiPath, we mobilized resources, managing to raise $1.26M in funds. We loaded two planes with oxygen tanks, ensuring 252,000 hours of oxygen for the people in India.

Solidarity Fund for Ukraine

While we were still amid a pandemic, war broke out in Ukraine. The day following the escalation of the situation in Ukraine, we launched a fundraising campaign. Our objective was to provide immediate humanitarian aid and medium and long-term support. The response was extraordinary: in less than two weeks, we raised over $1.4M, which we allocated to support the children and families affected by the war in Ukraine.

Remarkably, some individuals took the initiative to collect donations for the Solidarity Fund, leveraging the generosity of those around them.

One such inspiring individual is David Potts, a UiPath alumnus, who embarked on a 2500-km bike ride from London to Bucharest to encourage people to support our Solidarity Fund through donations.
