UiPath Foundation’s Global Advisory Board is a guiding body that gathers world renowned experts in education, poverty alleviation, and tech innovation. The main objective of the Global Advisory Board is to give advice and support our team to fine-tune our grassroots interventions and increase our global impact.

Akila Somasegar

is a finance professional and a philanthropist with a specific interest in empowering women and children. She serves on the Global leadership council for the United Nations Foundation, Advisory board of UNF's Girl Up, Boards of YWCA Seattle|King|Snohomish and Bellevue Life Spring.

Akila started her career at Microsoft in their international finance division working with international subsidiaries. After that, she was with a startup that grew as a multi-national company and got acquired by Priceline in 2014. Since then, she has been devoting her time completely to philanthropy.

In 2014, she was chosen to be an advisory board member for the United Nations Foundation’s Girl Up initiative for educating and empowering the girls around the world. Girl Up currently has presence in over 120 countries and has investment projects in six countries. She helped launch Girl Up in Sri Lanka and a nationwide launch was held in Colombo in October 2015.

In February 2020, Akila joined the Global Leadership Council for the United Nations Foundation. The Global Leadership Council focuses on bolstering USA’s relationship with the United Nations.

Akila and her husband have two daughters and they live in Medina, Washington, USA.
