Legal Basis of the Policy:
Our policy is based on the Convention of the Rights of Children of 1989 and its additional protocols, and
it is rooted in the international, European, Romanian and Indian legislation, being fully compliant with Law no. 272/2004 concerning the protection and promotion of children’s rights (the “Child Protection
Law”), the Declaration of Human Rights of 1948, all child-related UN conventions and the European
Convention on Human Rights. The following statutes with respect to child protection are applicable for India: The Child Labour
(Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986, The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012, The
Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015,
The Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006, The Commission for Protection of Child Rights Amendment
Act, 2006, The Education for All Handicapped Children Act, 1975, Right of Children to Free and
Compulsory Education Act, 2009.
